Swiftlet farm. An old shophouse in Chenderiang, Perak. It has been converted into a giant birdhouse. Swiftlets enter through the many small holes in the brick wall. Inside the big birdhouse, the temperature and humidity are tightly controlled to be at the optimum level for the swiftlets to build their nests. The nests are very valuable as they are a prized delicacy in Asia.

Standing in the middle of one of many rows of tall mature oil palm trees. Sometimes I get goosebumps just listening to a cacophony of sounds the unseen creatures make all around me.
