The story of the ancient Boyne Valley continues

It is not surprising that with each new discovery, the story of the ancient Brú na Bóinne or the Boyne Valley, the massive megalithic necropolis containing the Neolithic cathedrals of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth is still continuing to reveal more of its secrets. Slowly, we learn more and in an interesting article called, “Brú na Bóinne links to site where medieval monks made bread”, from Louise Walsh, we learn more about the site of Beaubec, Co. Meath that is currently being excavated where pieces of charcoal, now carbon dated, date to the same period as the Newgrange monument. This has created a link between the two sites, suggesting the Neolithic ceremonial activity at Newgrange, extended east to the Irish coast and across the sea.
